I cut my teeth on vs3. while at the same time using EZ-cam.  Mastercam felt so cool at the time. But Damn!  One mistake and you had to start completely over because there was no editing anything you did unless you edited the Gcode.  The shop that i worked at had stopped punching tape about a month before I started and I was grateful for that.  We were punching tape at the trade school I attended and a teacher told me that would be going away in the future.

I started on SurfCam. Then Mcam, Then Esprit, Then NX, Then back Mcam/Esprit. Currently and for the last 4 years, TopSolid.

I started with MAstercam with x2 I think it was, around 07 as a student I still have the books for it!

My first cad/cam was Powerstation, then to BobCad then to Mastercam 6.

Started programming on a Mazak with a Mazatrol control with  conversational programming in 95. After that was a stint of programming long hand. We would either program at the control or in word on the computer. First introduction to Mastercam was V9.1 in around 2005ish.

Since this turned into a how I got started... I hired into basically a floor sweeper and learned the manuals from the old guy. Few years later we bought a Vertical, it was on me to figure how to run it.  After studying the Haas manuals and manually programming for a few months, it was time for some software.  I begged for Mastercam.  That was X2 timeframe
