Zinc was the key 15-20 years ago to beat the flu, then it sort of went by the way side.. (cutting into Fauci's wallet)

Statins lower your natural levels of CoQ10.

About a year ago, my cardiologist suggested I try taking CoQ10 to see if it helped with the leg muscle pain from the statin. It didn't work.

Statins are known to reduce CoQ10 levels in the blood, but there is debate about whether or not they lower CoQ10 levels in muscle tissue.

I just take it cause doc told me to.

Quote from: JFord on January 17, 2022, 07:45 PMI also take B12 as I am deficient in B12.

Gotta be careful when eating a vegan diet. Lacks sufficient B12 and D (which Doug's chart shows, thus admitting to it). In fact, all the B vitamins lacking in a vegan diet.

What ghuns said...

I take 200 mg of Co-Q-10 a day (a higher dose). I take 5mg of simvastatin each night (the lowest dose their is).

And again, from what Dr. Campbell said and doing my own research - it's wise to add vitamin K2. It works with vitamin D3 making it more efficient.

Western diets lack vitamin K2 as it is found in organ meats (liver) and small amount in fermented foods (not to be confused with the other K ... K1, they are two different vitamins and many protest why they share the same letter)

I couldn't even find any in stores. Amazon has it, though. Type it in and viola...

B12 is the boogeyman meat eaters use to try to debunk vegan diets being the way we were created to eat. However it's false because they consider it in regards to our modern highly sanitized lives. Before a hundred or so years ago people picked carrots and potatoes, etc out of the dirt, wiped them off and ate them. They also picked fruit up from the ground and ate it. They still had adequate B12 on them. Today we wash the crap out of veggies removing the B12 carrying bacteria.

For the record, I put a cup of almond milk in my smoothie every morning that is fortified with B12.

I was wondering who you meant. I was thinking that if you heading down the Colin Campbell path I'd better get your "welcome to vegan club" gift ready.  ;)

I take 4 medications daily (thanks to my poor lifestyle choices and resulting heart attack) and now I also take vitamin D, C, and sometimes zinc. Most of them recommend being taken with food. I like to take them with breakfast to get them in my system early but it seems kinda weird to take all of that stuff at once. I try to spread it out a bit during breakfast, even if it's only 10-15 minute apart. Gulping down a handful of pills at the same time just seems like it's something that I shouldn't be doing. Perhaps it's just psychological?

Our bodies are simply a vast network of little factories producing products to keep us alive(IMHO).

Get the factory what it needs to make great products at an efficient rate = a healthy organism.

The problem is that we are all very different and sometime require VASTLY different quantities of these substances. (IMO) Most disease and ailments are caused by the factory not get enough of what it needs to meet the quota for the body. This can flow to other factories in the body, ie supply chain breakdown.

On the opposite hand our little factories clean our bodies of unwanted junk. Sometimes these factories get overwhelmed (or a just not as efficient as in others bodies) and can lead to a cascade of failures in the factory "Supply Chain" leading to disease and poor health.

We are all so different that often times what works for other will not work, or even harm you.

The liver cleans most of the "junk" out of our system but it also needs to be cleaned to stay efficient. Milk thistle does a good job as a liver cleaner. I take (2) 245mg capsules three time a day.
