What tunes are you listening to right now, while you work?

What I love about music, is that it can bring you to a specific point in time. This song brings me to 1977. Tender age of seventeen, I'm living in a sleeping bag with two buddies in the parks of San Diego. We are waiting to get into the Marines. But our first attempted to get in was at the front gate of USMC boot camp. Feeling like Gomer Pyle, "We want to join the Marines"! The guy at the gate was like WTF? "Oh you need a Recruiter". It took two months living in San Diego's beautiful parks before two out of the three of us actually went in. Definitely life changing time of my life.

I love how music can bring you to a very specific point in time.

None of my stories are as exciting as yours here, but I always get these associations with stuff I was making or working on, or a girlfriend at the time.

My wife has still got a mix tape I made for her just after we met in '96; it's got "Live at Fillmore East" and "Eat a Peach" with a little bit of Steely Dan to use up the rest of the tape.

"Turn up The Eagles the neighbors are listening" LOL!

Ben Monder's latest album, "Planetarium" was released last week. I suspect that this won't have the same appeal as The Dan to many folks here, but man....it's epic! Fair warning: this is not an easy listen as you might imagine if you've heard much of his other stuff.
