Question....how do those who take part in the beta program manage it in a production environment? We have 10 or so seats of Mastercam..different departments, lathe, mill, mill turn, wire, etc...all with programmers with vastly different skill levels using Mastercam.

In the past I've installed beta stuff, and had to go back to the previous version because of bugs, or more common, I would program something in the beta, an operator or someone else would try to open my file to clarify a path or something, and they wouldn't be able to open the part.

I gave up on the beta stuff for those reasons. Just don't have the time to add to my workload.

It is frustrating, because invariably I wind up filing a few bug reports after every production release. If I were able to catch stuff in beta...well you get the idea.

I just use it for simple one off stuff like tooling and one time patches
I do not use it for production work.
When I have a little spare time, I will make a copy of an existing file, open it in the beta
and check things out
This will be particularly important this time as the ModuleWorks toolpaths are all getting converted to
the new Universal interface and I want to be sure exisitng files open properly in the new interface
To date I have not found a problem.
When the Production Canidate is released I will start using it on simple production work

Still running 2021 becasue Bossman can't bring himself to deal with another version before he retires...

I only wish I knew when he was going, turns 71 in April  :(

You have to wear a mask while using it.

Well Transform and Backplot with Axis Substitution are broken. Negative Lead In/Out is fixed.

I just work on it in my spare time, which is less and less these days.
And since I use X+ for my setup sheets, I can't really give my guys programs unless I make a different style of setup sheet. And since the default setup sheets are garbage, I don't give my guys programs with the beta version of Mastercam.

Since I use a 3rd Party Post Processing solution for 95% of my machines, it's not practical for me to particiate.
