Save and invest. Live within your means. Don't use your house as piggy bank for toys and fancy vacations. Get to the point of being debt free and you'll be amazed at what you can accumulate for retirement.

A lot depends on the kind of retirement you want. If you want adventure and travel you better have a lot put back. I'm content living the same lifestyle I always have. We put up a nice above ground pool and I enjoy gardening and working in the yard. Just not working everyday and leaving all the stress behind brings me fulfillment. Everyone is different.
