Our cabin is 12 miles from lake Superior. usually around 4 to 5 feet of snow and without a sled your not getting to it in winter.

Almost at that point. Snowblowing and shoveling become Les and less desirable the older I get. The worst is when it's about 10 degrees out with wind blowing and gusting.

We won't have $1,000,000 but our house right now would sell for something only about $28k shy of that... at least that's what the house down the street sold for a few weeks ago. Our model is highly sought after because it has a built in rental unit should one choose to do it. Since my father in-law that lived in our In-Law's unit passed (developed a-fib from the COVID not-a-vax) in January, we've fixing it up so my 2nd son, his wife and their two kids can move in in June so they can save money buy something somewhere at some point.
 
I'd love to leave this Demonrat run shit hole, but the grandkids keep us here. I'm a 5th Generation Californian and I'd be sad to leave it, but, this place has been on a steady slide downhill since the late 80's/Early 90's when VP Kamala Harris was literally sucking Willie Brown's dick for a job and now this shit hole's decline more closely resembles a runaway freight train.

As soon as at least one of the kids leaves, we won't be far behind. I can work from anywhere. I just want to be moderately close to an airport. I'm pretty spoiled right now; 35min from driveway to gate... through security and everything.

My daughter's in-laws retired this year, and they decided to treat their kids and grandkids to a Disney vacation in Florida for a week in September.

The kids are obviously excited, and my daughter is hoping to make it through the whole week without having to have any gender-related conversations with her kids while they are there.
(Not that she doesn't want to have those conversations at all, just not in that time and place.)

It's sad that it has come to this, but here we are.
Disney used to be a place where kids could just enjoy being kids, but now everything has been infected with political correctness and wokeness.
