Wow...
Just the fact that Tiger Woods is even able to play at all is amazing after the car accident last year that shattered his leg.

He was only a couple of shots off the lead today, but it remains to be seen whether he can finish all 4 rounds. 
He almost stuffed in an ace on #6 today, which would have broken the internet if it went in.

The problem is not his game so far, but the walking will be the real test.

Anyway I think Scottie Scheffler may be ready to break through this year.
Daniel Berger is also playing the best golf of his career lately, so I think he has a good shot too.

But the Masters is the supreme test of a player's overall game, so it will be interesting to see who prevails this year.

Hey I'm not judging the guy, I'm just saying he is lucky to even be able to walk, much less play competitive golf at the highest level.

I just finished reading Hank Haney's book 'The Big Miss', where he documented his six years as Tiger's golf coach, from 2004 through 2010.
It's a pretty interesting read.

As part of Tiger's 'inner circle' he got to know the guy on a personal level, which is difficult to do with many elite athletes.
And even then, Hank says neither himself nor Tiger's long-time caddy Steve Williams knew about his 'other' life of infidelity and sex addiction. 
He also obviously kept that a secret even from his wife for quite some time, until she eventually found out and the whole scandal hit the media.

He was also pretty emphatic that he never knew Tiger to use any kind of drugs, legal or illegal, since the guy is such a health nut.

As far as his professional life, Hank said he recalled only one time where Tiger was taking prescription Vicodin during the week of a tournament because of chronic knee pain.  He felt like it poorly affected his putting and his short game, so he never took anything stronger than Motrin after that.

People can believe whatever they want, but I don't see where Hank Haney has anything to gain by lying since the two parted ways more than 12 years ago.

Tiger reportedly wasn't happy about the book at all because he felt it revealed too much of his personal life, but as far as I know they are still friends.

It looks like the wind is howling pretty good at Augusta this afternoon.
The guys with early tee times today really lucked out, but that's all part of the game too.

Yeah, Tiger bogeyed two of the first three holes today, so I'm sure he's not the happiest guy on the course at the moment.

But hey, at least he is out there competing, which is great to see after all he has been through.

and it takes 2 days to recover.
