Lots of people think Trump was close to DeSantis and possibly even grooming him for the Oval Office.
Running against Trump in the primary would sink that if it is true.

If DeSantis DOESN'T run, and Trump does, that will all but seal the deal for him to be Trump's running mate, assuming Trump wins the nomination.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out...

This is where I really don't care for Trump. I like his policies, but his personal politics are less than desirable. When you are on team Trump he will go to bat for you, but as soon as you are not, the dirty name calling, etc. starts. If DeSantis ran against him in the primary I fear Trump would be a total @ss towards him and hurt both of them in the long run.

That being said, I agree with others that I would rather vote for DeSantis over Trump. The one question I have about DeSantis is, could he handle the full force of the Dem/Media/DeepState smear machine? To date he has only been an occasional target.

 I don't think so.

Trump and Cruz started out adversaries, They are damn near twins now.

I would love a Trump /Cruz 2024 also.

That dirty name calling is called Politics, It's been going on for a hundred years.

Just ask Caeser !! ;D

Trump has the bank, and the pull. all DeSantis has is Florida.

And in an electoral he is a good friend, But not in Iowa, Pennsylvania or Ohio.

Trump can prove He won them.

DeSantis No.

He can take V.P. but would lose against the Democratic Black woman Nominee.

He couldn't beat Hillary and Kamala.

I would not vote for Trump. The first time I did not vote for him. The second, time after watching the Democrats spend 4 years trying to overturn the election, I had to vote for him. He's an idiot who can't keep his mouth shut. Not saying he's stupid or his policies sucked. He is just way to toxic. We really do need someone who can at least stand a chance of working with both sides. Trump is not it.

IMO, the only time we ever see someone "work with both sides" is when a RINO Republican caves into Dem demands. The Dem party has gone so far left there is no working with them unless you want liberal policy enacted.

It's good to be toxic when you're fighting toxicity. I think DeSantis also carries some toxicity but needs more. He could learn a lot from Trump.

Yeah, I agree Trump is toxic, and he is his own worst enemy at times.

However, he is also the de facto leader of the Republican Party at the moment.
I would also prefer for him to not run again, but if he decides to run I think he will win the nomination.

I would much rather see someone with the ability to dismantle their opponents policy logically and be able to make coherent arguments supporting their own policy. All of this shit slinging makes our country look ignorant. I suppose that most people don't really give a shit when it comes to voting. They just vote straight party line anyway.

DeSantis at least comes across as being a lot more intelligent than Trump. He puts in his jabs when he needs to and he does it without telling someone that their wife is ugly.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

If he does our country is in terrible trouble.
As I said earlier, the dems will burn this country to the ground to prevent another Trump Administration.
The depths to which they went to steal the 2020 race only illustrates their contempt for the rule of law

Most conservatives can easily dismantle liberal policy with logic. The problem is you have a corrupt, dishonest collusion between the majority of media, Dem politicians, and the deep state. 2000 mules is a perfect example. The movie logically lays out a sound case for massive voter fraud in the 2020 election. Most of the media is ignoring it or censoring any discussion of it. Logic doesn't apply to liars. They don't care, they will make up and say whatever they need to. Social media is even worse. When you try to make a logical case against liberal policies, their algorithms block your posts and even ban you you.

So how does the shit slinging solve that problem in any way? I don't see how making yourself look like a petulant child solves a corruption problem.

I watched some of Trumps rally's.  He might as well have stood there for 2 hours saying nothing more than "we need more electrolytes".   (president camacho reference)

I cannot watch Trump speak for more than a couple of minutes before I have to turn it off.
However, I absolutely loved 90% of what he did as president.
