Good Samaritan in mall shooting identified

Quote"He engaged the gunman from quite a distance with a handgun and was very proficient in that, very tactically sound," Ison said of Dicken. "And as he moved to close in on the suspect, he was also motioning for people to exit behind him."
Dicken fired 10 rounds from his handgun, according to the chief, and that as he fired, the gunman "attempted to retreat back into the restroom and failed, and fell to the ground after being shot."

It takes a lot of balls to go up against an AR-15 with a 10 round 9mm belly gun  :respect:

Balls....

They were evidently missing from all 376 Uvalde officers....many having equal or greater firepower.

Uvalde Shooting Report

An interesting except from the report

QuoteThe House Committee report also cited as problematic the daily "bailout activity" in the area over the past 18 months, where illegal immigrants who are involved in high-speed chases with police abandon their vehicles and scatter into the community

Because the school's emergency alert system could not differentiate between bailouts and other emergencies like school shootings, the school staff was receiving almost daily notifications, which led teachers to respond "to all alerts with less urgency—when they heard the sound of an alert, many assumed that it was another bailout."

I call bullshit.

So they are saying that the teachers would have responded with more urgency if they knew for a fact it was a school shooting?....Riiiight. The sound of gunfire wasn't a big hint?
The police could have stopped this in a couple of minutes within arriving on scene. They chose not to. Whether it be from phantom orders from a higher rank or they were pissing their pants and had a big yellow streak down their back.

All the same, the lawlessness caused by FJB's open border policy lead to a complacency about alerts
and a slowing of responses to them. Of course it was a whole different issue once gunfire was heard.

Typically, I prefer to wait until all the details are out, because the 1st report in the preponderance of situatrions is wrong. However, there is a MOUNTAIN of evidence from MANY unrelated sources that this was 100% dereliction of duty in the highest order. As each day goes on, more and more details come out, more and more reports are published, it gets worse and worse, and worse.

As far as I am concerned, there is no punishment fitting for this wilful act of cowardice and finger pointing from EVERYONE charged with public safety in that entire city. It has been said that suicide is a real concern for many in this city's Law Enforcement Community... I say it fits their character; cowardice. Suicide is the coward's way out in a situation like this. They should be forced to live for the rest of their natural born lives incarcerated KNOWING they could have done something... and didn't. Their cell's wall paper should be the faces of the children and teachers killed BECAUSE of their choice to "wait for orders" or whatever lie they are telling themselves.

The knuckleheads that attacked concerned parents should be charged with aiding and abetting.
Supreme court has already ruled LEOs have no duty actually stop a shooter, so no dice legally going after charges for the rest of the cowards.
Remaining employed by the community on the other hand. No f'ing way.
