Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drug Company

Has anyone been paying attention to this at all.  I'm wondering how this is eventually going to play out. Right now, it sounds like you can get *most* generic drugs from this place for cheaper than your prescription co-pays.

The phramacy that I use, on any of our generic brand prescriptions, if the price is chearper than our co-pay, they don't run it through our insurance and they charge us the lower price..

The REAL issue with prescriptions isn't getting the generics, it's when you are stuck on the formulary brand, that you'll get killed costwise.

I've been listening to Cubin talk on a couple of podcasts recently and he's going to try to expand in to name brand drugs as well.

It sounds like right now, he doesn't accept insurance and there is no plans to do so moving forward. He provides full transparency on their web site showing the costs and their profits from each prescription drug.

I'm always cynical, but it sounds like he's trying to do something good here.

I don't know anything about him other than he owns the Mavericks(?) I don't follow basket ball so I'm not even 100% sure about that. 

If he's just looking to expand his wealth, which he say's he's not, he'll probably grow the company and then sell it to the highest bidder. If that's the case, then I guess people can take advantage of the low prescription prices until that happens.

I'm going to try to read more in to it.

Sadly, with the removal of the OT forum on eMc all of that stuff is lost...

He immgrated with Israel from Russia....there was a period of time in the 80's where Russia let the Jewish people move to Israel if they chose....he relocated.

He was a tank, IIRC, Commander(?) in the Soviet military...a very interesting and colorful life story

You would be surprised. Lots of Russian immigrants in Israel. So much so that in order to watch all television channels in Israel you have to know 4 languages. Hebrew, Russian, Arabic & English. Probably a few Spanish channels too.

Fun place to visit. Different neighborhoods reflect the background of people who immigrated there. The Russian neighborhoods had really good food, along with the Arab ones....

Oh man, speaking of food... there is a gas station near me that has a big kitchen and they make Mediterranean food,Shawarma, etc... I'm not a huge fan of most of the food, but the smell!!!!
When they are cooking it, it smells SO GOOD in there you gain 20 lbs.
They do make some great Baklava though.
