some questions worth considering on the Russian disinformation thing:

When democrats assert that Russian disinformation changed the 2016 election, what are they really saying? Republicans were never going to vote for Hillary. So in essence, they are saying that Democrat or independent voters are dumb enough to fall for Russian Memes. that is telling that they think so little of their constituents.

could you give me an example of a time when a meme changed your mind about something? I couldn't. What they are saying is that these Russian Meme's changed the minds of either Democrats or Independents. How elitist is it to think that it would never change "my mind" but it would change some of those "others?"

Tucker Carlson or the entire right wing media. One place says it then the next repeats until all righties are enraged by the same thing. If you see right wing propaganda it's pretty much the same as watching Tucker Carlson.

Everybody in the world uses social media to inform or misinform us and the rest of the world. Russia, China, Republicans, Democrats, everybody.

I do believe that the Russian Government is terrible.

They actually may be better than the current cabal in DC, overall. Certainly are in certain aspects. Their income tax is way better.

I think the point is, that all it takes is a meme.  There are too many people out there these days that are too lazy to read past the headlines.  When they see a meme on the internet they pass it around as if it's factual information and the next thing you know, you have millions of people parroting something that's based on a photo with text. The reality is, even if some of these things have a hair of truth to them, most of the time the story is more nuanced than a line of text.

probably not. But, people always tend to think. It hasn't changed my mind, but those "idiots out there...."

Hollywood has been trying like hell to get me to vote differently than I do. So have the major news networks, so have the late night show hosts, so have the musicians. If all of them failed, why would a meme change my mind?

Honestly, I don't know. I would hope not. But they can affect your opinion on a subject. If you're pro-choice and you start believing that it's normal to abort in the 9th month, then it would affect your opinion on that subject. That's just one example.
