Smit, come on the water is FINE!!

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3606418-fewer-voters-identifying-as-liberal-poll/

QuoteLiberals have made up a little over or a little under a third of U.S. voters over the last five years, while conservatives have maintained the majority at just under 40 percent.

From 2017 to 2022, the share of voters identifying as liberal dipped from 34 percent to 27 percent, while those identifying as conservative rose from 38 percent to 39 percent.

However, voters identifying as moderates or uncertain about their ideological affiliation have increased.

Those who identified as moderate increased 4 percentage points, from 24 percent in 2017 to 28 percent in 2022. Those who identified as uncertain also increased in that same time period, from 3 percent to 7 percent, according to the survey.

The poll noted that the percentage of Democrats identifying with a liberal ideology has also declined since 2017, while more Republicans are identifying as conservative.

This makes a lot of sense when you see how far left the left has gone over the last decade. Obama era liberals are considered Conservative to today's progressives.

I'm surprised that some of the Right hasn't moved in to that moderate category. If you're anything left of Steve Bannon these days, you're considered a RINO. I remember when everyone was praising Trump for selecting Mike Pence as his running mate because Trump selected a true Conservative. Fast forward 6 years and Pence doesn't even belong in the party anymore

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Agreed! but truth be told there are elements to the republican party that make me nervous also, but with Democrats, the anti-christian rhetoric has increased to such a high degree that they are unrecognizable from just a couple decades ago. The article in the Atlantic attacking people who pray the Rosary was a significant escalation of the culture war. The culture in America right now, reminds me a lot of Spanish Civil war of the 1940's.  where the choices boiled down to the Corrupt Right, or communism. We are not at that point yet, but it feels like we in the foot hills of that mountain range.

Fissed that up for ya. :)

People not voting is a major problem in this country. If everybody voted this country would be in much better shape. Right now the extremists vote is shaping the country.

Of course some of the right has moved to the moderate category. The Bush Republicans who didn't get on the crazy train, and there are some, would be moderates (as well as RINOs) too.

Lots of libs and independents didn't vote either. Hence the problem with extremists having too much power.

Free fiss for the people that don't know that "well regulated" in 1791 meant something entirely different than it does today. Something the leftists have become quite adept in doing is changing the definitions of words to cover their staggering ignorance.

Abolitionists were considered extremists in 1850. And Gay marriage advocates were considered extremists in 2008 which is why Obama said he was against it before he was for it. Now just a few years later, I'm considered an extremist for disagreeing with Gay marriage.

I'll tell ya, I'm having a hard time keeping up with what extreme is.

I watched an episode of the Jerry Litton show (1976) on Youtube the other day. I thought to myself if he was running for president on those ideas, I could consider voting for him. he was a Democrat from Missouri that won the Democrat Senate primary in 1976 and died in a plane crash the same night. the ideas he had back then would probably get him cancelled today.

The leftist in control of the USSR in the 1920s had to make posters reminding the populace not to eat their children while they starved to death, after they killed off all the farmers and made regulations for harvesting a single grain punishable by death.
The Left today are pussycats in comparison.
But notice the goings on and the Netherlands with them trying to cancel farmers and the fact that Bill Gates is buying up all the farmland here in the US. So get your posters ready.

I was for gay marriage before it was popular.    I guess I was an extremest for that time? I remember getting in to an argument with a co-worker about it back in about 1998 and he got so mad at me that he wouldn't talk to me for about a month. Now, he calls himself a libertarian and supports gay marriage 100%.

They can't breed, they have to recruit. Remember that fact.

Today... 8/19/2022 pedophiles are no longer pedophiles. They are "minor attracted persons". What's next after they have your children? I can't even begin to imagine.
