Quote from: neurosis on August 18, 2022, 12:58 PMI was for gay marriage before it was popular.    I guess I was an extremest for that time? I remember getting in to an argument with a co-worker about it back in about 1998 and he got so mad at me that he wouldn't talk to me for about a month. Now, he calls himself a libertarian and supports gay marriage 100%.

Maybe.....you shouldn't have turned down his proposal?? ;D

I'm fine with Gay marriage but it's bound to be a PIA for at least one  of them.

Quote from: Newbeeee™ on August 19, 2022, 03:47 PMShoot me with shit....I'm still old school and believe the word "marriage" shoulda been left for guys and gals only.

I think that marriage should be a ritual between two people.  Marriage in our sense, is signing a government contract committing two people to each other financially.

I think that is a ruse.

I can be committed to someone without signing a government contract.

I don't care who want's to involve themselves in that. It's none of my business?

Maybe I've been libertarian before it was a thing?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

LOL. yea.. that's kinda my point. It's not the marriage necessarily that I have the problem with. It's the governments involvement in it.

Quote from: neurosis on August 18, 2022, 09:50 AMThis makes a lot of sense when you see how far left the left has gone over the last decade. Obama era liberals are considered Conservative to today's progressives.

I'm surprised that some of the Right hasn't moved in to that moderate category. If you're anything left of Steve Bannon these days, you're considered a RINO. I remember when everyone was praising Trump for selecting Mike Pence as his running mate because Trump selected a true Conservative. Fast forward 6 years and Pence doesn't even belong in the party anymore

I would consider myself as to the right of Steve Bannon. I left the Republican party during the Tea Party days and joined the US Tax Payer Party (Michigan only, Father of the Constitution party).

Well don't make the mistake of clicking on any MGTOW videos on YouTube cuz then they'll feed you about a thousand more. Pretty unbelievable the amount of that stuff that is on YouTube.
Western world courts are pretty liberal in defining marriage. Some say having a relationship for some period of time or cohabitating for a period of time is common law marriage even if no such arrangement is officially signed.
Good luck walking into a family court with a pair of testicles.

But who do you vote for?

Is there any benefit to being in the US Tax Payer Party?

Wow! I'm surprised that clip can still be found on Youtube. Cancel culture and all. Of course being Gay is practically Straight now. How times have changed.

No. Lately the only Tax payer party people to vote on are university heads and the like. I'm thinking about switching to the Democrat party to get the IRS looking the other way but still vote the way I currently do :-\ . I wonder if that would trigger a button to punish that renegade voter? Just Kidding ;D I'm not switching.
