I make small batches (ten to twenty usually) of small medical device parts (usually palm sized or smaller). I've been media blasting by hand, but it's labor intensive and my hand cramps up after a certain number of parts. Thinking about getting one of these:

Anyone used one who could tell me the good and bad? Is there a better option in this price range?

Thanks!

I'd be more concerned with the parts either tumbling against each other or tumbling against the basket and getting dented, especially the larger ones. If there is a concern about that with your particular parts?

Watching YouTube videos of them in action they seem to be more for a half full basket of nuts and bolts than fancy medical parts.

Have you thought about a vibratory tumbler?

I don't think that would be an issue.  The parts I'm doing today are grade 5 Ti, .068" thick x .480" x 1.24" long, with a lot of material removed, so they hardly weigh anything.  I do a lot of parts in this size range.

In passing, yes.  I know it would be cheaper, but would it get into nooks and crannies as well?

Possibly, yes. It really depends on how small you need to go but there are media of different sizes available

Could always grab the small one from Harbor Freight for $50 and try it out with some different medias. Any certain finish you need to produce?

Mostly "BT13 or equivalent".  One reason I figured I'd stick with blasting media, to keep the parts looking the same as they do now.
