In the IMTS thread people were talking about hotels and Airbnb. Curious as to where people stay when traveling. We have used HomeAway which has now been absorbed by VRBO. We have stayed in houses, condo's and townhomes. Have had great luck and experiences. Usually find a place on the water or with great views.

For IMTS this year we stayed at the Hyatt Regency. It was part of the package deal through the MPMA. For SEMA we have been doing a VRBO every year. We send about 7-8 people to SEMA every year and found it is just easier to get a big house for the week and make big breakfast/dinners there every night instead of going out for every meal. I went last in 2019 and we had a nice 5000+ SqFt house with a pool/hot tub, and big rec room with pool table and other games for less than it would have been to put everyone in a hotel room and go out to eat all the time.

Long walks at the show, Weber grill, and Chicago Steakhouse on the river.

That Bed feels like a thousand feet deep.

We stay at the Hyatt Regency on Wacker every year. Close proximity to places our customers like to go and it has a bar that stay open until around 1-1:30am.

I wondered where a few of the guys went. That's not my scene and I'm usually in be no later than 2:30am-ish.

I had my wife with me this year... and I made her keep my hours, and made her keep up. And she actually had it a little easier than me.. she didn't have to work the booth on her feet all day, go without lunch, etc.... She walked the show a bit but pretty much relaxed most of the day.

She now knows how much work shows AND after show nights are and I don't think she'll be giving me any more grief about me being out and "...just having fun...". :coffee:

Mr.M

I stayed at the Intercontinental this year. Nice room and was easy to walk for dinners

I was thinking more about vacations than attending shows.

Hotels for the most part. We have stayed in flats and other things when traveling abroad if we were going to be in anyplace longer than 3 days. Things have changed with Covid so what is better now a days is not cheap.
