Flight Simulators? Anyone ever played around with these?

I've decided to purchase a flight simulator to prepare for the boredom of the winter rainy months in Seattle.

I've never messed with one of these before but the one I got looks a lot more complicated than I was expecting.   I got X-Plane 12, which is sorta a pre-release but it give access to the seasoned V11 which has been around for quite a while.

I'm starting to think that I should have went with the Microsoft Flight Sim.    It looks a little more user friendly.

Remember to aim Low at final approach.

and fill the empty cabin with loose propane tanks.
