Multiple shots to walk a gun onto target are common when extreme long distance is the pursuit, but this range presented a whole new set of challenges. To reach that distance, the bullet rose 2,500 feet above the bore, into wind meteorologists only dope by weather balloon. Despite the unmeasured variable, the record-setting shot resulted from a 53-m.o.a. wind call in ground breezes that averaged 8 mph. Elevation adjustment was a mind-boggling 1,092 m.o.a. Spindrift adjustment was calculated at 93.80" to the right.

I cannot believe that "spindrift" alignment being almost 100".  That's pretty epic.  I'm in the camp that this was nearly all luck, but yes impressive to say the least.  I've only shot out to 600yrds, not that many places to stretch out my .50 in N Alabama.  What was the MOA on his scope base? Like 700MOA lol

I've got a place I can go out in the Desert where i can safely shoot just over a mile. I'm inching my way towards the mile. I haven't gone out and shot for distance since probably January. Every time I get ready to go, something comes up.
