We have a few new parts that are a little more complex than our regular lathe programmer is used to so I am running the programming/proving the first one. It's been a while since I have made any parts that needed this much surfacing. Since I mostly just do automation now I rarely program anything, let alone setting it up and running it. Proved this out yesterday and this morning in out Multus U3000.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I usually have to wait a day after I program it. and then just say Fuck it !! and let it run.

makes me smile when it puts out a semi.... perfect part.

I do my best to have an additional piece to prove it out.

Mostly diameters we run about .0005 on bearings so having a test makes it easy.

We have not finalized that yet. I ran a few version with different scallop heights. The times range from about 30 minutes to 50 minutes. We are going to have a meeting on Monday to decide which version is worth the cost of machining. So far it looks like everyone is leaning towards the 30 minute version. They all show some machining lines, which is what we want. We don't want it to look like a cast/tumbled piece. I ran .0002, .0005, and .001 scallop settings. After running it through our polisher the .001 seems to have the brightest shine.
