Not to mention the size of these cards.  Who has a case large enough to fit this thing?  It's almost as big as an entire playstation 5

The Gigabyte version is bigger. 3" x 6.1" x 13.5" weighs 4.5 lbs. holy shit.

But the power of this card is pretty nuts compared to the 3090Ti. Blows it out of the water. I didn't expect it to be that much better.

They are very power hungry though, it needs an 850w psu just on it's own.

The fact that they cost as much as three gaming consoles would make me think that this is out of reach of most people unless you're professional or just have too much money to burn.

I looked at the video encoding capabilities of this thing and it was unbelievable.

I'd like to see the computer cases required to fit one of these.

You'd be surprised at what gamers will spend lol.
They're "only" $1500.
When the 3000 series cards were release back in 2019 (?) They listed for $2k ish.

This is Nvidia trying to set a price standard. They even said something like that at the launch if this card.

The Ryzen 7000 series cards will be coming out next month, they are getting MUCH better at being a competitor.

Intel's ARC series cards are hot garbage right now, but have massive potential.

There must be a lot of wealthy gamers out there.

I figured that the prices on the 2000 and 3000 were so high due to the supply and demand while crypto mining was going bonkers. I can see that they haven't come down in price all that much.

I don't know that I enjoy video games enough to pay $1600 for a video card.  I'd have to wait until the next series comes out and drives the price down a little.

edit: actually, it would be longer than that - I'd have to build an entirely new PC just to power that thing.

It's not that they are wealthy, it's more that they live in mom's basement and no girls want to talk to them. They have extra money that you and I don't. ;)

Luckily I can't think of a reason why I'd need that big of a card for what I do. It's bad enough my cards add at least $1k to the cost my my rig... $3k? :o

World has changed - we just had twitch-con in San Diego and the girls going to that are either gamers themselves, or there to talk to some.

Twitch-con.  Isn't that where that porn chick broke her back jumping in to the too shallow foam pit?

Nvidia RTX 4090 Ti Reportedly Cancelled Due to GPU Melting Power Supplies

https://gamerant.com/nvidia-rtx-4090-ti-cancelled-gpu-melting-pc-power-supplies/

QuoteA source close to YouTuber Moore's Law is Dead (a popular technology, gaming, and lifestyle writer and podcast personality) reported that the NVIDIA RTX 4090 Ti is simply too powerful for now. Also, the source reported that the RTX 4090 Ti won't be headed to market anytime soon. Supposedly, the powerful GPU was tripping breakers, melting power supplies, and sometimes the actual GPU was melting as well. Despite these concerning hardware failures, NVIDIA's team green still has time to work out the problem and determine a way to create a working RTX 4090 Ti.
