finding a frequently correct and nutty conspiracy theorist guilty of defaming the parents of murdered kids takes the same leaps of logic that finds a constitutional right to killing babies in the constitution.
Interesting that Rachel Madcow and tuker carlson get such cases dismissed hinging on the fact that reasonable viewers couldn't take what they say as fact.

but that $1 billion verdict is a political message, not a just verdict.

Regardless of his character, paying people that got offended by what someone else said is stupid.

I don't think that there is any amount of money that could make up for the garbage that shit sandwich put those parents through. If you want to talk about morals - that fuck wit made a mockery out of the parents of murdered children to the point of leading to their death threats. Then continued to mock them after he knew they were being threatened. It takes some balls to ask for handouts to help pay for his lunacy. 

I've never really cared for most of this wind bag's bloviating, but hey, free speech is free speech. If he can convince (insert whatever term you like for people willing to listen to Alex Jones) that he's worth listening to and he can get rich doing it then more power to him.  But when this nonsense started my opinion of him went from low, to thinking he's just a total waste of air.  If he caught on fire I wouldn't piss on him to put him out.

What is upside down, in my opinion, is people defending this turd of a human being.

What I find interesting is how peoples extreme partisan beliefs are showing through on this. If you compare Alex Jones lies and lawsuit to the lies about, and resulting lawsuit in regards to Nicholas Sandman, it shows a clear divide. People that were cheering for CNN, ABC, etc. to get sued for billions are now saying the Axel Jones lawsuit award is crazy and outrageous. On the other hand people that claimed Sandman had no grounds for his suit and the judge was right throwing out the larger suit (not the CNN settlement) are now saying Alex Jones deserves this judgement.

In both cases the legal definition of defamation/libel was met, I don't disagree with that. I do have concerns about the ever increasing amounts being awarded by juries. The lawyers find a group of 12 poor people and trigger them emotionally to "send a message" award amounts.
