Do you get mad about this or?

On one hand, it's hard to feel sorry for a business that profits so ridiculously off of someone elses medical needs.

On the other, that is a giant stock manipulation.

QuoteThis news "blue" folks away on Thursday so to speak. That day, the Twitter account @EliLillyandCo posted, "We are excited to announce insulin is free now." At the time, that account had one of those blue check marks next to its name suggesting that Twitter had already verified its authenticity as the real deal, the real Eli Lilly and Company. Doling out free insulin may have sounded like great news for the over seven million people in the U.S. who take insulin regularly each day for diabetes. After all, free is a pretty darn good price for a medication that has shot up in price over the past decade up to over $1000 per month for some who don't have health insurance.

There have been ZERO "new" patent-able innovations with insulin in forever. However though, since the USPO is in the bag for these Pharmaceutical shitbirds all they do is change one insignificant piece of the recipe and boom... new patent and no generic version is available. It's bullshit. My 3rd son is T1 and has been for almost 10 years.

I have no problem with pharmaceutical companies making a profit. None whatsoever. Profit is how new drugs to treat (insert ailment) get developed. But when a drug is developed, and they recieve a patent, that patent exists for a set period of time then it is (usually) allowed to expire and after that point an generic version of the drug can be sold usually at a MUCH discounted rate. Not so with insulin. They continue to change the formula before the patent expires so the patent seemingly exists in perpetuity.

Insulin corruption is ground zero for any crappy socialist/fascist (canada) country to throw our majority socialist system under the bus, and rightly so.
If you're an ex-pat you can get world health insurance so long as it excludes 1 country. Guess which one :coffee:

So all I have to say in defense of the US system is "it's not true socialism"
