When my SIL was stationed here in Wichita, surrounding small towns would call them if the need arose. One time they got called because someone found a Japanese grenade going through their grandpa's garage. They took it out and blew it up. He said they tried to never go back to base without blowing something up.  ;D

He's been to Iraq and Afghanistan since then.

Dealing with the insurance company to get this sorted out blows.

I took the truck to the dealership because there were damages to the truck other than just the exhaust. Some wires were severed leading in to the transmission.

The "claims department" for State Farm decided that the repair (and they could be right) should cost about half of what the dealership wants to charge.  Of course they quoted a bunch of parts that aren't OEM so I doubt the dealership would install them.

Insurance is such a racket.    :flame:

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

One thing nice in Indiana, if your vehicle is 5 years or less old, you can REQUIRE all OEM parts on the repair, the insurance can't decide.  Worked out well for me when I hit a deer in August.  The repair costs were a bit under $20K all OEM parts though.

If only I'd gotten it.  It lost a foot, but 3 legged ran off into the corn field next to the road and disappeared.  I'm sure it died out in that field somewhere, but we couldn't find it.  I'm sure the farmers combine did though when he cut his field.

I have a 3 legged dog that keeps shitting on my front walkway. I'm about to take out his other back leg so I can follow the trail of shhhhht to his owner.
