No, I don't believe any side can take the moral high ground.
Agreeing there are sides means you've already lost.
Binary political parties is where they get you.

7th grade required reading. (I'm not being insulting)

Perfect time for a young mind to absorb it.

And The Classics.

Outside the comfort zone??

The Turner Diaries.

Actually, I never read it. Somehow, I missed most of the classics. Either that or I don't remember. Their was a lot of that in high school.

No doubt authors like Bradbury, Rand, and Orwell were way ahead of their time.
All had an almost uncanny sense of the future that turns out to be eerily similar to where society is today.

Quote from: mowens on April 03, 2023, 08:07 AMit also brings to mind all of the people today walking around wearing earbuds, including me.

Off topic:

Those ear buds like ipads (or whatever you call them) are bad for your hearing. The high decibels damage the ears range of frequency (hearing loss with higher frequencies).

Apple won't tell us that (of course). Research this...

That is why I recommended 7th grade.

Right before the girls and the pot and the music. ;D

I took a speed reading class in summer school. It wasn't so much about reading fast but Retention.
I learned to enjoy and retain a great deal of what I read and growing up in the space age.

it sent me to a lot of places.

Lovecraft ,Asimov, Bradbury, King and Poe.

I'm glad you found the time to read. It is a gift.

We should start a Book Thread?? ;D
