I typically carry 10+1 and an extra mag in case of malfunction.

1911s just don't feel right in my hand for some reason.  Might try a few holster option for the hipower before I get anything else.  How do IWB holsters feel against the skin if you're only wearing a single layer over it?

Both my holsters are kydex. In the high heat, it's not awesome feeling for sure. If it's t-shirt weather and below 80°F I'll wear an undershirt. After that I just suffer. 🤣

Mine is horse hide, it's not terrible. If it's hot, I still sweat. Just not as bad as kydex.

I know the hammer back makes people nervous, but in the history of the 1911, there is only ONE scientifically documented case of a 1911 firing a round in the pictured condition.

An off duty cop set his holstered 1911 down on a shelf in a MRI room. When the tech flipped the switch, the 1911 flew across the room, struck the MRI with great force, and went BANG. Consensus was it hit hard enough for the firing pin to overcome its spring pressure and strike the primer.

It's g'damn messed up....I can be in NH, ME & VT and I am a law abiding person....if I slip across the border to MA, I am doing absolutely NOTHING different but I am now a felon....

My first 45 will probably be a cz97BD.  Love the look and history of 1911s, just wish they were a better fit. 
Might have to suck it up and try a few dedicated carry polymer frame options.  EDC is all about the tool for the moment I suppose, rather than cool factor.

i bought a XD45 with 2 mags 13 rd right before the law it came with a voucher for 3 more
i can keep and use them just don't put more than 10 rounds in it , ASININE i had to register them

That was a BIG part of the reason I bolted Mass when I did.....and I don't regret it for a moment.
