Quote from: TylerBeer on March 23, 2023, 09:38 AMThe clamoring to defend a tax evader with hundreds of millions of dollars from being labeled as 'rich, by people working in a trade who's value has been ground down year after year, is hilarious. Don't worry guys, they'll thank you for defending their freedom!

Quote from: BrianP. on March 23, 2023, 11:16 AMOh please. I'm responding to your comments not Gene Haas's legal problems.

Your comment infers I give a shit what Gene Haas has, outside of the optics of that when being a convicted tax evader.
You would be wrong!

This thread is great, so far we have:

1. Gene Haas isn't rich
2. I'm rich
3. I wish I was rich

You do give a shit; 1) you posted this topic so you must care about Gene/Haas, and 2) your commented on his wealth so you must care what he has.

Don't like guys that earn more money than you? Stop talking about 'em and start your own guitar or robot company.

Quick question. You ever worked under the table? Done a favor for someone and been paid cash and not filed a 1099? Paid someone in cash for a better price knowing they will not claim it? Tipped in cash so someone won't have to claim it?

I think most of us have which makes us all tax cheats. Trying to pay the least amount to the government is as American as apple pie. I don't get real upset about what people pay because the people running this country are a bunch of crooked incompetent fucks. They probably would run a company into the ground if they actually had to stick to a budget where they can't just keep stealing or printing more money.

I always tip cash, what they do with it is there bidness. have worked in service industry and they are under paid, over worked and on occasion very disrespected for what they do.
Dem waitresses are a good perk on the side tho. that was another life.

So I'm guessing if Cryler decides to come back and chime in he's gonna talk about how "his" tax cheating is not equal to Gene's tax cheating. 🤣

We're ALL tax cheats. Every last one of us. If it's a penny, if it's a trillion dollars, it's ALL cheating.

It's like the girl that won't sleep with a dude... then he offers her $1,000,000 to sleep with him and she says yes.  So, the reality is she's a prostitute. She won't work for free so now we're really just negotiating the price.

People intentionally misrepresenting what other people say so they can get all self righteous. I love this place.

Nope, never have. Whenever I tip in cash I also provide a tax receipt.

Not sure why you cheat your taxes but that's up to you.

If those things were purchased before you became a resident in california you don't pay taxes on them. But I did it anyway, just because I'm right and you're wrong.
