Even 13 in an outrageous number.  That's an average of 4 a month. Most Countries don't have that many in a year.

NBC has a much stricter set of guidelines as to what constitutes a school shooting and have published 3 so far this year which is still 1 per month.  :(

It just surprises me at how something this tragic is so easily dismissed with political rhetoric. Or that it's something we've just become willing to live with.

It's clearly something we're willing to live with. It's pretty routine now, hardly newsworthy.

Biden's attempt to ban "assault weapons" is just going to make things worse. Criminals and killers don't care how many anti-gun laws there are.

Every year in America there are 10,000+ drunk driving fatalities. Millions of people drink responsibly but if we just took away their rights and outlawed alcohol we could surely spare those 10,000 lives.

No, but it makes the lemmings giddy with glee whenever they hear those talking points.
It's a vote getter, and 2024 is right around the corner so buckle up because we'll be hearing more and more of that in the coming months/year.

As usual, clowns blaming the tool instead of the killer. We don't blame cars for drunk driving, we don't blame forks for obesity, etc...

"If only there was 'something' we could do". There is. Stop blaming the tool, and start blaming the criminal. Let's start with that.

There is obviously something more going on here than blaming the tool or the criminal. Why do our children feel like the only resolution to their problems are to kill anyone who's wronged them? They don't seem to have this problem in any other Country. The only two arguments/solutions we talk about is more guns (arm the teachers) or less guns.

There are things we could do, but I think that most people are looking at a short term (stop the next shooting) fix rather than the long term fix, which would prevent the behavior.

Long term:
I would concentrate on giving students reasons to hope rather than reason to despair. Things like constantly telling them they are desparaged because of their skin color, or that they are privileged by their skin color, those are things kids cannot change, which causes despair anger and resentment. People need a message of hope.

I would focus more on teaching kids how to handle bullying rather than just trying to outlaw bullying. this is what they did when most of us were young and it fared better than what they are doing now.

I would drop teaching the ideas of Nietzsche and Kant or at least teach them and show why they are wrong. While kids don't really recognize that they are learning those philosophies by name, they definitely are. I would focus more on the ideas of Solzhenitsyn, Jordan Peterson(not his political but philosophical ideas on suffering), and Renee Gerard.

Because modern liberalism is all about triggering emotional outrage and using that to suppress rational thought ensuring total control of their followers. The ones that are acting out violently are the outliers and the left politicians are willing to live with that as long as they can use it to fit their agenda.
