gay marriage was unthinkable, when I was young and Obama was against it when he ran for president in 2008. but the media has normalized the behavior to the point that California's constitutional ban on gay marriage was overturned and soon after every state in the nation.

There are academic studies right now and philosophers arguing that pedophilia should be a letter in the LGBTQ soup because it is an attraction that someone is born with. that's the first step. That was the same first step that argued for homosexual rights and trans rights.

And as I said in another post, transhumanism is becoming an identity as well.(people who identify as other animal species) If you can think it in your mind, Then that is who you are, rather than the fact that your mind could be deceived, which is what any rational person would have believed in the last 70,000 years.

On the surface, totally viable question. You're thinking though... you're not considering the end game which is whatever, whenever, with whomever, AND with however many. THAT is the end game, and THAT is what destroys civilizations, and THAT is what they are trying to legalize. Things that create an orderly society are what they are against.

The way I interpret the USA article is that they're trying to make it easier for those pedophiles who haven't acted on their urges to get help so they don't ultimately abuse children. They made a clear distinction between having the urges and acting on them. They clearly stated that acting on the urges is a choice. Once they have acted on the urges they deserve the punishment they get.

Every. Single. Step of normalizing a behavior is one more step towards normalizing actual illegal activities. Like Beej said, men going into girls bathrooms is "okay" now, pedophilia will eventually be normal. I don't care one bit what you do in your own bedroom as long as it's legal. Touch a child or other impressionable person and your head should be rolling on the floor next to your feet. Tell an 8 year old boy they are a girl because they feel funny, same thing. These companies and politicians are normalizing the damage being done to children.

I will stand up against every attempt to hurt any child, as I had an attempt on me.
My 6th grade teacher attempted to groom me and my best friend, he is in prison now. But it took 20+ years and a handful of schools to get him in there. He was shuffled from district to district each time an accusation popped up, eventually losing his teaching license in MN, so he moved to Michigan, where they finally put him away. I would have tried to do something more then had I realized what actually happened to me. It wasn't until after the news broke and they described the things he had done I started looking back and was like..."yeah...he did that to us as well...."

My kids are now adults so I don't have to worry about this personally, however as far as issues that are worthy of "going to war" over, this is one. I can deal with the environmentalists, the lefts economy crashing policies and a lot of their other crap, but when it comes to protecting children, they need to be stopped.

There is no doubt that christians are flawed, sinners and in need of a Saviour. But I have to ask, have you seen evidence that a lack of religion is better? thinking of Nazism, Stalinism, Maoism.  In fact, most of the ugliness you see in Christianity today are Christians directly disobeying christian precepts, which is not a vindication against Christianity as much as a lack of zeal for it's precepts.

Christianity says that there are 7 deadly sins: envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, sloth, and wrath. Whenever you see ugliness, one or more of those are involved.

Nope but I've seen plenty of death, abuse and mayhem to at least posit the theory that religion in groups is more dangerous than not.

The overarching thing for in "this" discussion is religion truly has no place in a larger decisions as a group....that said, it undoubtedly plays in the hearts and minds of individuals....that much I can respect...I'm not a "non-believer" but I am firmly against religious groups enmasse....you, I & others have to make decisions based on what is in our hearts....where that is derived from is up to the individual...the prothletising is something that should not be happening...again, JM2C FWIW...

I guess if Hitler, Mao, and Stalin would have accepted Jesus into their lives they might have been better humans but I don't think they are a good example to use for comparison purposes.

Perhaps a list of secular countries that currently exist in peace and prosperity would be a better comparison?

This kinda pertains to the subject especially where school is involved. They actually rescinded the guys offer because he used the term "ladies". Does not fit their agenda so out he goes.

Here it is.

"A Massachusetts superintendent candidate losing his job offer for writing the term "ladies" in an email is an "over-the-top and disproportionate response," says the district's Democratic state senator as the school system faces heat for the decision.

The Easthampton School Committee pulled back its offer for Vito Perrone to lead the district because he used the term "ladies" in an email to the committee chair and committee assistant, according to Perrone.

The 58-year-old man had addressed the pair as "ladies" in the email that was going over negotiation points after the School Committee had offered him the superintendent job. School Committee Chairperson Cynthia Kwiecinski later called the "ladies" remark a "microaggression" when the committee voted to rescind the superintendent offer, Perrone said.

State Sen. John Velis, who represents Easthampton and eight other communities in Western Massachusetts, in the wake of this vote is speaking out about the committee's decision.

"If the allegations are true that the incoming Easthampton superintendent had his offer rescinded solely due to the way he addressed an email, then things have gone too far," Velis said.

"This appears to be an over-the-top and disproportionate response to something, that if nothing else, could have been used as a teachable moment," the state senator added. "Enough is enough."

After Massachusetts superintendent candidate wrote 'ladies' in email, the School Committee rescinded its offer

Perrone, the interim superintendent of West Springfield Public Schools, said he was blindsided by the committee's vote to rescind his job offer during a private executive session meeting.

Growing up in the 1960s and 70s, Perrone said the terms "ladies" and "gentlemen" were respectful, and it's why he used "ladies" in the email.

"One person's perceived microaggression is how another person was brought up to politely and respectfully speak to women," Velis said. "If this was indeed the only issue, this was an opportunity to learn and grow as a community, not to tear down and divide."

The School Committee was supposed to have a meeting earlier this week, but that meeting was canceled after hundreds of people tried to log into the Zoom meeting.

The next School Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday evening. The meeting's agenda lists that there will be a superintendent candidate discussion and/or potential vote on a candidate to be the next superintendent.

According to Western Mass News, Perrone has hired an attorney. Perrone had previously told the Herald that he had talked with a lawyer from the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents, who told him there was no legal recourse because he hadn't signed anything."
