If you want to play music you already have stored on a device, it's probably not. I don't have any of my own so, in that way it's more like pandora or Spotify.

I kinda thought it would be like you described (simply based on its name), but since I don't know anything about it, I was going to look into it this weekend. You've confirmed that it's not what I'm looking for. Thanks Mike!

Pandora started as a genome project... when you like "this" the algorithm says "well this is like that,  so try this".... the more you like especially early on the more it opens up for you.

I had it back when it would allow you to build radio stations using multiple band selections for free.  After they ended that and made you pay for that feature I dumped them.
