Further elaboration: I joke that I'm too conservative for my liberal friends, and too liberal for my conservative friends! What I *really* want to know is where did all of the "normal" folks go? It seems like everybody has got to take some sort of extreme position on things these days. Any everybody seems to think that arguing is what they need to do-like if they "win" the argument there's some sort of special prize waiting for them. Is this like the debate team in HS?

I'm pretty sure the answer to the problems we have in our current political environment is *not* that it needs more ideologues. 

When I find a party that I feel actually represents me, I'll pick one. In my opinion, there is no fence to sit on. It's all just one big swamp.
