Quote from: neurosis on December 13, 2021, 04:28 AMI just started watching that new Showtime special "Yellowjackets". It's kind of a weird cross between Alive, and Lord of the Flies.  Not sure what I think about it yet. It's a little strange.

SO what do you think? Worth watching?

Well, about 3 weeks in I dumped my cable so I don't have showtime anymore.

It was a little strange. I'm not sure that I could recommend it. I wouldn't have minded getting to see a few more episodes.

I bought Ghostbusters Afterlife on Amazon Prime. I thought it was a fun movie. It is mostly an homage to Harold Ramis. The 3 remaining original characters show up at the end. My favorite scenes are the ones that play during and after the credits featuring the original cast.
To me it was similar to a Disney movie but really well done.
It won't make your head hurt following along. :)

Wife and me have been powering through Hell on Wheels. Not sure I was even aware of this show when it was new.

Anson Mount was perfectly cast as the lead. It's one of my top five westerns.

If you have Amazon Prime they are running a $.99 two month Showtime subscription trial right now. After the two months it goes up to $15 or something around that.

Since we got rid of cable we just watch for those trials and do those, then cancel after the trial. We just cancelled Showtime and we are now doing a two month trial of Starz on Amazon Prime. Two months seems to be a decent amount of time to get through the movies and series that you find interesting.

It ran on AMC which has so many commercials it is unwatchable.

I want to to watch Yellowstone on Paramont which also has an unbearable amount of commercials
but
you can stream it on Paramount+ with zero commercials.
They have a one month free deal, then it's $15/month... I'm not sure you could get through
all 5 seasons in a month though

You can buy it on Amazon for $20/season.

Amazon is on my banned list since they started censoring free speech in 2020.
It is impossible to boycott Amazon completely, but I don't spend my $$ there
unless it is unavoidable.

Cobra Kai.
Cheesy as hell, but well worth the watch for Johnny Lawrence's character. Hilarious, stuck in the 80's, etc...
