Warriors on Netflix. Kung-Fu themed San Francisco drama based on the writings of Bruce Lee. Theatrical gore intertwined with a good plot. Really liked it.

Sherri and I started NCIS... with Mark Harmon. We're on Season 1. There's some GOOD writing there.

NCIS was pretty good for a lot of years. I think it's been running for 20+ seasons.
Gibbs retired a couple of years ago and it's turned into the typical woke BS you're seeing
in all the new shows. My wife and I gave up on it

Thanks...
Definitely on my list.

I was always a big Bruce Lee fan when I was a kid.

I never knew he was developing a series like this before he died.
Great to see that his daughter carried through on it and brought it to life.

I heard he used to choreograph fight scenes with hand drawn stick figures.
The cast and crew paid homage to some of Bruce's on-screen mannerisms. I thought it was respectfully done.

I saw the first episode last night.
They packed in a whole lot of plot background into one episode, but kept it interesting, and the fight choreography was smooth and natural.

Definitely going to watch the whole series!

I also did get to see the miniseries 'Quiet on Set', a documentary about Nickelodeon and Dan Schneider's rise to power back in the late 1990's, early 2000's.
Yeah, he was kind of a wierdo, and a doosh, and he definitely treated women who worked for him like crap, but I don't think he was directly involved in any sexual abuse of kids.

Nickelodeon did however employ at least 3 known pedophiles who were all convicted of child molestation back in that time period.

The most compelling person in the documentary was Drake Bell, from Nickelodeon's popular show, 'Drake & Josh'.  (My kids loved that show and watched the newest episode every week without fail.)

Drake recounted being groomed and eventually sexually molested by a guy named Brian Peck, who was part of the Nickelodeon production group.  This was soul-crushing stuff hearing this now adult man telling his story of abuse which happened to him when he was just 14 years old, done by an adult who manipulated himself into a position of trust and supervision.

The worst part was that after Peck was convicted, served 16 months in prison (waaaaay to light a sentence), and had to register as a convicted sex offender, he was hired by Disney and allowed to work with child actors on set AGAIN!!!  :realmad: Yeah, let's all put on our shocked faces...

Drake seems to be doing ok now as an adult, but those emotional scars are permanent.
I was glad to see that he had the courage to tell his story publicly, and hopefully give even more exposure to the rampant sexual abuse of children in Hollywood that is still happening today.

I mentioned this in another thread, that I also just saw the Netflix documentary 'American Nightmare'.

This was a high-profile kidnapping case that got quite a bit of media coverage at the time.
It's also a good example of how law enforcement and the media can get tunnel vision in these kinds of cases.

Thank God for that one police officer who wouldn't quit until she put all of the puzzle pieces together.

I highly recommend this documentary, but be forewarned, you may end up yelling at your TV!

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Smit

The wife and I finished "Hell on wheels" a while back. It's about building the first railroads through the west. It was a good show, pretty intense.

We started watching "Shogun." It's a good show. Recommended.

I'm watching "Jericho" on the side. It started out pretty good but lately it's been pretty meh. I'll finish out the series, 7 more shows, but can't really recommend it.

I loved that show.

It's funny but Anson Mount, who plays Cullen Bohannon in Hell on wheels played A super hero named Black Bolt in a show a couple of years later called The Inhumans. The funny thing is that Black Bolts super power is that he posses a destructive voice. The merest utterance from him can destroy houses. As a result he never says anything.

An actor with no lines. He is currently In a reboot of Star Trek playing Captain Christofer Pike, which is a pretty good role for him.
