I have been watching reruns of the Midnight Special on Youtube. So far, the episodes have been from 1973. I like it because the musicians actually play and I get to see a lot of 70s bands in their early forms. There was Fleetwood Mac, the version with Bob Welch, before Stevie Nicks and Buckingham. Uriah Heep was on. When they introduced Joe Walsh they said "formerly of the James Gang". And almost no commercials.

Watched "The Postcard Killings" on Netflix yesterday.  Wife and I enjoyed it.  Definitely left it wide open for a sequel.

someone had mentioned Mare of Easttown, just finished that last night and it was excellent! plenty of twists and heart wrenching. I felt the acting was top notch.

Oh yes, that one was great.
Kate Winslet was phenomenal in that, and I think it won like 4 Emmy Awards.

Kate Winslet was on the Graham Norton show, and she mentioned there was some talk of a Season 2, but HBO won't confirm. Since the writers' strike in Hollywood, many things are still up in the air.

I would definitely watch another season.

I watched that too. I liked it very much. What did you think of their accents. I've only worked with one guy from that area and they sounded just like him.

Oh they definitely nailed it.
That was one of those subtle details that you hardly notice but adds to the overall quality of the show.

We just finished the 3rd episode of Mare of Easttown and it's pretty intense. But it seems kind of sad right now.

The town people sure are mean to her.

Shazam/TPP

thought the same, she's trying to do her job and gets shit on..

one thing i caught/or missed, she has a limp in the first few episodes but disappears? i may have missed the cause, whether a temporary thing or lifelong injury?

Wow...I just saw the movie 'Hidden Figures' for the first time this weekend.

I had heard bits and pieces about the three brilliant young African American women who worked for NASA back in the 60's, but the movie really brought their story to life.

The adversity they had to deal with between the sexism and racism of that day was nothing short of astounding.
And yet all three ladies were able to overcome those obstacles to become legends in their chosen professions.

My favorite line in the movie was from Kevin Costner's character as he ripped down the 'Colored Only' sign from one of the bathrooms in the NASA facility...

He yells: "No more colored bathrooms here at NASA!...We all pee the same color!"

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

My wife saw it in the theater and made me watch it when became available streaming. I loved it too. One of my wife's observations is that she never heard a thing about these women was when the movie came out. I was a kid in Florida watching those early rockets take off from the beach and I never heard a thing about those events either. Sad.
