I was diagnosed in 1999...in 2012 I had a MAJOR flare-up. There were times I almost couldn't get out of my chair...that calmed after several months but at the time told me, "in 10 years you'll be on the table"....he was off by a year.

Just had surgery to relieve my symptoms...that was the underlying cause of my surgery..

It's called a Laminectomy. It was performed on L3, L4 & L5

I dread surgery if I need it but the pain is excruciating when walking or standing up straight. I'm just in early stage of diagnosis waiting on an X-ray. Not sure that will even show it.

My guess is after the Xray, the doc will order an MRI....that's where they can really tell the extent..if you're in early stages, they will likely offer a steroid shot to help with the swelling and and pain....I refused it in 2012...I was so far advanced at this point, there was no other option left but surgery.

I already got a steroid shot. Helped for one day. Went to chiropractor yesterday and he wants X-ray before doing any adjustments.

I am certainly not going to tell you what is right for you...for me, I was if I went to one, to tell then to stay away from that area....as I already had nerve issues, I was told they had the ability to make it worse...

That was in 2012 and advice to me...

In keeping full disclosure, I wouldn't see a chiropractor to remove so much as a hangnail anyway..JM2C

He was very truthful and told me after X-ray if he could help any. He just did like stretching and it actually helped some.

He showed and explained very well with a spine model what's going on with the disc that's deteriorating and how when I stand up it compresses the nerves. I'm fine when I'm sitting.

don't do a MRI if you are dehydrated, It'll mess up your Kidneys. Ask me how I know.

Not in any I have ever had, no.

seriously hope they figure it out and find some relief for you..at our age nothing is fixed..just livable
