First two holes were smooth as silk.

The rep flew in all the way from Michigan. They hadn't tried a 30XD drill that small in RC40 15-5. We did some haggling on the speeds and feeds a bit before running.  He had hoped that we were doing this in 3 stages (1.5x -> 8x -> 30x) but after running it, didn't think it was necessary. We'll know for sure after a few more parts.

We ended up going with Schunk holders and the tool run out was .0003 at the end of the tool.

Bring on the 40XD!

Glad to hear it all worked out and that Advanced Drill was useful :)

There were some hickups but very minor.  For some reason the coolant codes get confused. I'm not sure if that is because I'm using an older MPMaster post or what.

I needed the coolant to come on after entering the hole, then shut off before exiting the hole. I'm using through coolant but it wouldn't issue the through coolant shut off M-Code. It was issuing an M09.  Before you ask, no, I don't have it set to use M09 for all coolant off.

It's nice that you can manually add code and then re-order the code. I ended up manually adding the through coolant off code and had to do a slight bit of re-organizing, but the code posts out as needed now so it's very convenient.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Yeah, you often have to pretty thoroughly vet a generic MPMaster/MPFanuc post to get all the coolant working properly.   Glad you figured out the work around of manually controlling it with the "code" feature.

I'm still surprised that people haven't broken more things with Advanced Drill.   It's wide-open, that Code field lets you do anything you want inside of it. There's really no guard rails.
