Quote from: beej on August 14, 2023, 07:28 AM@Smit, I have one other question. Do you think that Hunter should be imprisoned for failing to register under the FARA? Doesn't it seem pretty clear that he was lobbying the US as a foreign agent?

Beej, I don't try people on right wing media, left wing media, social media, or any other media.

If he's convicted of crimes he should receive the same penalties as anybody else would receive.

Regardless of whether he's the presidents son, an ex president, or anybody else. Do the crime, pay the time.

Quote from: beej on August 14, 2023, 07:29 AMcareful now, you mouse is hovering over that whataboutism button you keep talking about.  ;D

That doesn't make sense. Trump did appoint Weiss to investigate Hunter Biden. Whataboutism about what?  :headscratch:

Andy McCarthy says that the statue of limitation expired last week on the WhatsApp message where Hunter biden declared that he was sitting there with his father. Nobody even knows how much of this case is left, because of how long it is taking them to investigate.

Meanwhile in the whataboutism department, Jack Smith is running his investigation like a tornado headed downhill towards a 100 acre trailer park.

QuoteBut I do think what they ought to be asking questions about is how much of the case is lost? You just had a report about Hunter's lawyers kind of confidently saying if the deal is gone, so be it. I don't blame them for that. Remember the whatsapp message that everybody got spun up about about a month ago? I would remind people the sequence is Hunter does this extortion message where he says his dad is sitting with him, they're pressuring the Chinese guys and within eight days they start sending $5 million that gets into the Biden family coffers over the next number of weeks. That call, that whatsapp message happened on July 30th, 2017. The $5 million went on August 8th, 2017. Today is August 14th, 2023."

"The statute of limitations for most federal crimes is five years, for tax crimes it's six years. All of that stuff is time barred at this point because Weiss never indicted the case. All he needed to do to preserve this case was file an indictment. A statute of limitations would have stopped and you could negotiate a plea agreement from a position of strength because if they didn't agree to plea you could file the felony charges," he continued.

Meanwhile an FBI agent confirmed the IRS whistleblower accounts, saying that when they intended to do a surprise interview with Hunter Biden, they were going to call the Secret Service the morning of, for the safety of the officers, only to find out that someone had already called the secret service and the Biden Transition team, which made them unable to contact Hunter Biden.

Say what you want about him, but Hunter Biden seems to be the only member of that family who is actually generating revenue.

The whole family lives like royalty off whatever hustle Hunter has going on, in spite of his 'discretionary spending' habits.

That's a lot of mouths to feed. Kid seems like a real go getter to me.

LOL! The problem for the Biden family, now is, the democrats have set a precedent for using the RICO laws against politicians. So now, Republicans can just go get any prosecuting attorney from any city in America that doesn't like the Bidens and start indicting them with a politically prejudiced jury.

No, at least for now there has to be a basis in reality before people are indicted. Well, an unethical prosecutor may do it but it will likely be dismissed in court if there's no evidence.

for reference:
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/racketeering.asp

QuoteWhat Is Racketeering?

The term racketeering broadly refers to criminal acts, typically those involving extortion, that involve a "racket". A racket, being some sort of scheme organized to extract illegal profits. It is usually used in reference to patterns of illegal activity specified in the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). This is a U.S. federal law that makes it illegal to acquire or control a business through certain crimes or income from those crimes. It is also illegal to participate, even indirectly, in certain crimes committed by a business or to conspire to do any of the above under the act.

The list of federal crimes specified in RICO includes bribery, fraud, gambling offenses, money laundering, financial and economic crimes, obstructing justice or a criminal investigation, and murder for hire. At the state level, racketeering can include crimes such as murder, kidnapping, gambling, arson, robbery, bribery, extortion, dealing in obscene matters, and drug crimes, as long as they align with the "generic definition of the state offense referenced at the time RICO was enacted."

QuoteUnderstanding Racketeering

Organized groups may operate illegal businesses, known as rackets. An organized group may also divert funds from a legal business to use for illegal activities. Rackets primarily functioned in obviously illegal industries, such as prostitution, human trafficking, drug trafficking, illegal weapons trade, or counterfeiting.

are there any crimes, that the Biden's left out in that list?  ;D

Right wing media doesn't have a very good record in bringing that stuff to a court room, so by all means consume all you want. Just don't get too invested in it because you'll be hurt....again. :fish:

Good thing the media isn't in charge of prosecution then. But I can see where you'd be confused, seeing how close the demonrats and libtard media work together to sway the public.

Biden's pseudonym email for business while in office

QuoteComer is seeking "unredacted documents and communications in which then-Vice President Joe Biden used a pseudonym; Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, or Devon Archer is copied; and all drafts of then-Vice President Biden's speech delivered to the Ukrainian Rada in December 2015."

That pseudonym was Robert L. Peters.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/comer-seeks-records-of-biden-allegedly-using-pseudonym-as-vice-president

Quote"Attached to this email, and made available on the NARA website, is a document that indicates at 9:00 a.m. on May 27, 2016, Vice President Biden took a call with the president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko," the letter continued. "It is concerning to the Committee, however, that this document was sent to 'Robert L. Peters' — a pseudonym the Committee has identified as then Vice President Biden. Additionally, the Committee questions why the then-Vice President's son, Hunter Biden — and only Hunter Biden — was copied on this email to then-Vice President Biden."

Comer asked that NARA provide the requested documents by August 31.
