The government on Maui was totally unprepared for something like this.
The people in charge of emergency response got their positions through cronyism and party loyalty.
The response to the fire was a shit show and was largely responsible for the high death toll.
The aftermath has been even worse.
As icing on the cake, there are billions to be made. The value of all that beach front land is incalculable.
I'm guess a large chunk of it will be gobbled up and turned into luxury resorts for the 1%ers.


As far as the hundreds of missing children are concerned, I suspect many will never be found because
they never really existed. Welfare fraud is rampant in Hawaii and many of the missing children will turn
out to be fraudulent welfare recipients that only exist on paper. I'm sure the authorities already know this but will never admit it publicly.

 Why is the government there moving to grab the land there, right after blockaging and exterminating the residents?

The disgusting part of her saying she'll donate $10mill is that she "pledged" to donate $10mill.
What that means is that she'll reach out and beg for money until the goal is reached, and then SHE will be the one to hand over the check so that she gets the notoriety and looks like such a great humanitarian while not spending a dime.
