They just proposed raising the Washington State gas tax to the highest in the Nation. If passed, we'll be paying $1 a gallon in State gas tax.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

they raise taxes on gas because they want you to use less gas. they raise taxes on  cigarettes because they want less cigarettes.  They raise taxes business because they want....
Human pride weighed you down so heavily that only divine humility could raise you up again. ~Augustine of Hippo

I posted this already in the investing thread, but it is extremely relevant here.
The readers digest version is; the communication democratization that the internet brought will happen to the energy sector through solar.
in 1990 we had long distance phone bill an would be soon be paying for dial up internet. Now we get free phone calls anywhere in the world and coffee shop internet is free.
After the SuperPower threshold is met, power will be free, cars will run on pixie dust.
It's gonna happen and good politics to be the party to take credit for it. The fascist means the democrats like to use, be damned.

For the most part I believe in giving any new President 2 years before I judge him.

you won't get 2 years to judge Dementia Joe..I'll be shocked if he lasts a year

besides, we've already had 50 years to judge Biden .. he is the ultimate swamp creature
he has never had any job but feeding at the public trough, yet somehow became a multi millionaire
on government pay

It's prolly higher now...

But they even tax TV over there...  so an 82% gas tax doesn't surprise me much.

Biden does look really really old and fragile. I too doubt he lives another 4 years.

Knew a guy who started working at the park selling popcorn at 15, worked his way up a bit and then retired with pension at 45.

And that right there is the problem with the UK and here too.
Too many people on the gov teet and all final salaried up to their ears.
Police chief can retire at 50 and get full pension at nearly full wages (index linked) until he dies.
So if he lives to 80, he's got farrrrrr in excess out than what he put in.
Nice gig if you can get it...

SPEAKING OF POLICE CHIEF ,,, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SEATTLES ? O M G ,  we are footing the bill for that worthless wind bag?
and Portland's , that just resigned W T F ? both probably couldn't police their way out of a brown paper bag
