Interesting. Hard to believe nobody has done this before. Not that I've seen anyway.

I discussed with my salesman on Monday. He knew nothing about it. We contacted the local Guhring rep. He stated that they are only currently offered in Germany and seem to be about 6 months out. Jeff, you are on the cutting edge!

I believe LMT FETTE has had roll form taps like that for years.  I wanted to run them in an MQL application to ditch coolant completely in a fabrication environment.  I had a number of hurdles to jump through to make that vision come true.  I never bought any of them, but that was because I could never master the drilling op using modular drills with MQL only, and was unwilling to go solid carbide just for eliminating coolant.  If it hadn't been a stacked plate design, it would have been a slam dunk.  The rest of my hurdles would have been shoved aside once I proved to the naysayers that a roll form thread would have been much more consistent for torque and turn in assembly than cut tapped holes.
