I'm no expert, but that's generally my understanding. It seemed that Dan was referring more to the origins of life, which, I believe, is not covered by Darwin.

I should have explained better. I was thinking Eons (millions of years) and he was thinking  1936.

No, Mike. Punctuated Equilibrium doesn't address origin of life. It is an attempt to explain fully formed body plans that are missing entirely in the geologic layer directly below it.

It's the fossil record that motivated that term. That's why Gould and Eldridge came up with the idea of PE in 1972.

This video is from "History of the Universe" Purely science. Watch the attempted explanation of the fine tuning of our universe. They ran countless simulations using supercomputers tweaking the values of the constants. When they run it with the values of our universe...it remarkable 'creates' a simulated universe just like ours. However, when the values of the constants are tweaked - all simulations produce a dark, dead universe. Scientists have come to the conclusion the various constants are independent from one another. Their values just 'are what they are'. For example, why is the mass of a proton 1836X that of an electron? Any different ratio and atoms cannot hold together. Or Maxwell's electro-magnetic constants. tweaking those values and molecules could never form.

J Allen Hynek was a brilliant man, he headed Project Blue Book. For a while, he was a skeptic of the UFO phenomena - but over time he could not dismiss the 'hard' cases that defied explanation. His student was Jacque Vallee (the French guy Close Encounters of the Third Kind was based off his character in the movie). Both are / were (Vallee is still alive, I believe) strong proponents of the Interdimensional UFO Hypothesis. That these UFO's are from a higher dimension.

They have video footage of the UFO traveling at 13,000 MPH (MACH 20) making 90 degree right turns. This is impossible in our world. It defies our laws of physics which scientists presume applies to our entire universe. This means whatever it is must have zero mass. And they are seen blipping in and out of view. That's why a lot of scientists are pointing to interdimensional explanations.

When Jesus was walking with 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke ch. 24), He stays with them at their request after the walk. Jesus breaks bread and suddenly the disciples recognize Him. Then...He vanishes from their sight. The Greek word for 'vanish' is 'aphantos' which means to suddenly and instantly disappear or vanish (Strong's Concordance #855). Here, the bible is describing an interdimensional phenomena. This is after He rose again (resurrected) and His body was no longer restricted to our 3 dimensional world.

Theoretically, it is possible and many great minds concur with this concept.
