I received a letter about a month ago from Fred Hutch saying that there was a breach and that names, addresses, last four ssn digits, phone numbers, some medical records had been compromised. So far they haven't done squat about it.

You'd think these guys would at least offer free credit monitoring.

It should be illegal for any company to ask for your checking account information as payment, even voluntarily. I never give my bank account information as a payment option but between Fred Hutch and Xfinity, I'm sure that my CC has been compromised.

I got the same letter yesterday from LoanCare. God knows where the data will end up.

best we can do is get with the credit reporting agencies to put a credit lock on your identity.

we gotta get a temporary token technology as a proxy for your personal info. It;s fact that computer networks are hopelessly leaky.

My credit has been locked for the last 8 years. I rarely buy anything on credit and when I do, I usually unlock it temporarily and then re-lock it shortly after.

I'm not sure how helpful it is

When you use your credit card go through Google Pay or Apple Pay on your phone. The credit card numbers don't get used.

I remember about 10 or 12 years ago at work when the Gov told us that all of our info on your SF-86 had been compromised.

I swear, just leave it up to .Gov to screw anything up.  They too gave us like 2 years of credit monitoring
