Hope everyone had a happy new year.

GF and I are headed to Dallas Jan 10-13. Currently only thing planned is a Stars game Wednesday night, and I want some authentic Texas BBQ.

Hoping you guys might have some suggestions on other things to do. Hotel is in Dallas and we will have a rental car, but I'd prefer not to do a crazy amount of driving if I can avoid it.

If you make it to the Fort Worth side check out the H3 ranch. I had the best brisket I'd ever had there. It was so good I couldn't stop eating. If it's not too far a drive it might be worth making.

Those Texans know how to cook a cow, that's for sure. And I really want to try their spit roasted pig too.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Smit is dead on on the brisket. See if you can hook up with Dodgerfan. :D

He is right there in the area, and a pretty Badass Smoker himself.

He is a great guy (unlike most on this forum) You know who I mean.

And stay away from the chain stores.

P.S. there is no place close in Texas...............It just keeps going.

Actually, I can recommend one. TrueFoodKitchen.com/locations is a franchise place. There is one in Naples that I have been going to on occasion. There is also one in Dallas. They have a delicious roasted butternut squash wood fired pizza.
