My grandpa bought my mom a 69 Charger RT when she went off to college. Oh how I would love to have that in my garage right now.

Its a balmy -12 here today. I had to put away my shorts and break out my pants for the first time this season.

Got to 11 here last night. Not quite the coldest I've ever been in, but getting there. 0 at the base lodge at Alta when I was a kid. It was probably colder at the top, but it was the 80's and probably nobody cared.

No doubt. My dad totaled it in 1975. Rear ended a parked station wagon and it burned to the ground. Station wagon driver had ran out of gas and left the car in the middle of the road on a foggy morning. Luckily, we were a two car family by then and me and mom weren't in the car with him.

Quote from: Jeff on January 16, 2024, 05:53 AMThe best vehicle I had for the snow was a 2003 Grand Cherokee. Loved that thing.

Back when I was still Jeeping I had a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 that I used to tow the Jeep around.  The Jeep was an animal in the snow but that GMC was unstoppable. It was like driving a school bus.  It had the 496 so had to be nice with the throttle.

If my Audi on Blizzaks can't get through it, I don't need to get there.

I drove my last one through snow up to the door handles on all season tires. Later the same day I pulled a Civic out of a ditch while a Jeep driving asshole sat and watched.

Before we got married my wife had a used 1971 Oldsmobile Toronado that her mom and dad bought for her as a graduation present.

That was one of the first front-wheel-drive production cars, and THEE best car I ever drove in snow.

The thing was like a tank with the old GM 455 V8 with all of the weight forward on the front end, and with a decent set of snow tires, it blew through snow like it wasn't even there.

Man, I loved that car! 8)

Unfortunately it was rusting pretty bad, and it was somewhat of a gas guzzler even back then, so we ended up trading it in on a new one.  :foreheadslap:

It only takes one ass hole saying that you damaged their vehicle and it quickly turns in to 'no good deed goes unpunished'.

10 degrees in Alabama is purdy cold.  Everything outside is a solid sheet of Ice with 1" of snow on top of it currently.

It warmed up to 1 now. Pretty sure thats the afternoon high. The difference between here & over the mountain is pretty sucky during these cold spells.

The guy watched me pull the car out with my A4, in a fucking blizzard, no offer to help of any kind. When I was done he said, I wouldn't have believed that if I didn't see it. I asked if he wanted my number in case his bitch assed Jeep got stuck. He just drove away.

Even though the temperature is 20 degrees warmer than this morning, one step outside reminds you that 17 degrees is stil freakin cold.

If I were him I would have got your number.  You never know when you're going to be stuck and need a tug.

Although this is the Jeep you would have been pulling out.
