It's gotten to the point where I appreciate people who show up but only put in half the effort.

It's been like half shift Saturdays around here all year.
One guy out for a motorcycle crash, another for a legitimate OTJ injury, a couple more working
workers comp scams, and a half dozen called in PTO (paid time off, we don't have sick says anymore)
Two brothers called in with "The China Virus"
I think a lot of the call-ins can be put down to "too much football/playoff weekend". AKA hung over AF.

I sometimes feel like a fool for having 6 sick days left at the end of the year that I do not get paid for.

Our sick days are now called PTO and we get paid for them. You can't roll them over year on year.
I cashed out 115 hours last Dec.
Don't feel bad Fly, I've been here 17 years this week and have never called in sick or taken an unscheduled
PTO day.

Are cell phone scramblers legal?  I have a feeling if you could do away with cell phones production rates would go up.

We get 10 sick days a year. I've been with Selway for going on 18 years. It's doubtful I've called in sick 10 days in all those years but it could be 10. I just don't get sick all that often. Which is a little odd considering how much I fly and how many places I'm exposed to. But I'll take it.

I did take 3 days for my gall bladder surgery though. I was a hurtin' puppy. Damn that hurt! And I was all drugged up. That was the only one where multiple days were taken that I can recall.

We always have the guys who complain that they never have any money to do anything. Those are usually the same guys who never show up for work.

a.k.a. 'Cocktail Flu'.     

We get 5 sick days per calendar year and we do get paid for them if we don't use them.
I used 2 days last year so I got an extra check last week for 3 days leftover sick pay.

Took meh Mrs. out to our favorite brewpub for dinner and put the rest into the 'ammo' fund.
