I can't stand them BECAUSE of Bono and his arrogance.
The Edge is a decent guitarist I will agree.

The little kids are wearing AC/DC shirts nowadays. My grand niece was wearing one (just turned 10). We played an AC/DC song for her on the TV. First time she ever heard them. lol (eyes like 'woah, what's this sound?) lol

The "edgy" ones wear a Misfits shirt. Whenever I see one I want to ask them to name a band member or a song by them. fifty billion microbucks they can't.

Most overrated guitarists = Ritchie Blackmore and that stupid kid from Greta Van Fleet

I will fight to the death on this one.

Ynwie Malmsteen - he can play a lot of notes real fast but his music has no soul. He might as well just play scales.

I've always thought the same thing about Jason Becker.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Yngwie is the master of stringing together a slew of arpeggios then calling it a song.

The dude is bedridden with ALS and still composes music. With his eyes!
He's a musical genius.

Some of my favorite guitar players were influenced by Becker. Still, the "lets see how many notes we can pack in to a song" don't appeal to most people.

Here is Jeff Loomis covering one of his songs.

It's not about packing as many notes as possible like some players do just do look cool.
Becker did it and it sounded like music. And he wrote that song you linked at like 17 if I remember right.
Maybe you're just too old for fast music?  ;D

I'll explain it this way. And this isn't to take away from Becker. He was one of a kind.

If you compare what he was doing to what Marty Friedman was doing, even though Becker was technically a better musician, Friedman was far more listenable.

My taste in guitar playing would lean more toward Friedman. Or Jeff Loomis for that matter.  :D
