.
not sure the circumstances of his resignation, but yeah, blow up a 25 year career for an obvious media mea culpa is a price to pay.
.
my head did a 720 exorcist-style spin when he mentioned a certain orange lyin president with nary a mention of current buffoon or his boss.

guess this is why truth is hard to come by in today's media landscape.

I believe they fired him.

I started listening to NPR in 2002 when I started commuting to work and back.
I found the commercials and AM/FM radio unbearable and NPR had no commercials.. (sort of)
It was pretty liberal in 2002 and has gotten progressively worse.
23 years later I frequently just have to turn it off.
It is mainly ultra lib women talking about things that matter to other ultra lib women.

Today, they were blaming the lockdowns and violence at Colombia and Yale on Trump and
"ultra right wing influencers". It was laughable, but very sad.
I'm sure Smit will disagree with everything I've written here.  :)

One time while listening to NPR they had a segment during the national Right to Life March in Washington, they were interviewing a lady who was organizing a Pro-abortion march. After interviewing her, the host said, "Thanks for helping us get the word--(stopped himself)--Thanks for coming on the show."

That was one of the strongest examples I had a that time, that they were pushing an agenda.

Another time during the Trump administration on All Things Considered, they had a story about how Trumps tax cuts for businesses only help businesses and don't trickle down to the consumer. They did interviews about people having a hard time making it on their salary and asked them about how they feel about businesses getting tax breaks. It was all very sad. Like Sally Struthers telling you about abused puppies.

It was only a short time later on the same show, same host, they were running a story about the impact of Trumps tariffs on China. They had a CEO from a toy manufacturer on and they were asking him about the impact of the tariffs on the prices of toys for the average consumer. They interviewed some people who were afraid that, because of the tariffs, they may not be able to afford Christmas this year.

progressive Union leaders had been pushing for those tariffs for years. That's when I realized they are not just a progressive media source, they are just anti-republican.

Well... it IS government funded. I don't know what people expect to hear from that "news" source.
IMO it's just an echo chamber for those that want to hear what they want to hear.

The stat I heard was of the 80something 'journalists' they have on staff, 100% of them were registered democrats. Sounds like a diverse bunch who love to hear different views.

They all get briefs from the DNC every morning on the day's talking points
to make sure all the DNC propaganda outlets stay on script.
