I don't get the strategy.  Fox Sports signed a billion dollar deal with the st Louis cardinals and offered them a 30% ownership stake. And now they are limiting their viewership from almost everyone.  they have pulled their services from Dish network and Sling, so I bought a smart TV and got  Hulu. now they've pulled it from Hulu and youtubeTV. The only ones left now who carry it are ATT Uverse and Directv.(which ATT  has been trying to sell and is so far unable).  None of this makes any sense to me.  Are fans of other teams having this problem too.

they have got to lose viewership over this, and by extension, fans over this.

Only time I get to see Cards on TV last few years is when they play the Reds. All others blacked out. Sucks.

Its been happening here as well. They seem to think there are a huge number of diehard fans that will keep paying up to watch a bunch of overpaid kids playing with a ball. I used to be a fairly diehard fan of the Twins, Vikings, and Wild. In the past 5 years I have almost completely stopped watching all of them. Partly because it is getting harder and more expensive to watch them, and partly because of their shoving of political issues down our throats. If I don't see another game in my life I won't be sad and hope each and every major sport falls flat on their face.

I'm getting there. I used to set aside sunday afternoons to watch football.  I rarely watch now.  Baseball is just about the only thing I watch in the summer.  But now that's over, apparently.

I don't know why they are still enforcing blackout rules in any sport when there are little or no fans in the seats due to COVID restrictions. I thought the original purpose of the blackout rules were to promote ticket sales.

Anyway, unrelated but of interest, I read an article a few days ago saying that NBCSN is shutting down permanently at the end of 2021.  They covered quite a few NHL games, so that sucks.

I think many of those games will migrate to NBC proper, or their new streaming service, Peacock.

The Cubs have their own tv channel called the Marquee Network. Our local TV station that carried then no longer do.

Supercross is already migrating to Peacock.
The Dodgers signed an exclusive with Spectrum before we left Kaliforniastan. We had spectrum, so it didn't affect us.
But like a lot of people, I've quit watching most sports except rugby and racing.

I got really into Supercross last year for the first time since the 80's. Four strokes still sound weird to me though.

Sucks that they are moving to Peacock. How many streaming services do we need? By the time we subscribe to all of them, it will be more expensive than a cable/dish package (which won't have anymore programming, because it will all be on a streaming service.)

I still gotta have my fix of hockey.

Of all the major sports, the NHL has probably been the least affected by the whole political correctness movement that has caused sports fans all over to lose interest, as evidenced by ratings dropping like a rock in the NBA, NFL, and MLB.

We are anxiously awaiting the start of the AHL season that is to begin in February, and hoping the league eases the restrictions on fan attendance.  Our AHL Penguins are only a 30-40 minute drive from home, so me and the Mrs. are looking forward to attending games in person if they allow even limited attendance.

I've always been a fan of motocross. I raced for many years, as did/does a number of my family. My nephew has just gotten his pro license, and is working towards arenacross, one of the stepping stones to SX.
I also personally know a number of the riders running 250, as they were some of the riders that Ryder (my nephew) went thru the ranks with, including the nationals at Loretta Lynn's twice.
Keep an eye on Joe Shimoda. I've been watching him grow for about 6 years now. He's a great humble kid.
