We bought adobe premier elements and photoshop elements for 200$ for the company, spent 125$ on office those are all perpetual licenses, elements is a bit simpler to use than traditional photoshop and uses the latest ai tools.

We are preparing to launch our own CAD/CAM system shortly, the release got pushed back due to the massive increase in demand for custom Mastercam Software,

if u want Mastercam Custom Add-Ons we are the go to company, we have no competitors currently for complex add-ons requiring c++

We offer support such as add-on development and post development for mastercam customers who are off maintenance using older versions of Mastercam as well, we spend 1000's of dollars a year on sponsorship for mastercam events, so the money still trickles down to CNC Software, even if it's coming from off maintenance customers

One thing I've never understood about the official forum or the eMastercam forum is the reluctance for people to actually discuss pricing. Naming what price people pay has been a no-no ever since I became aware of eMastercam. yet one can go on to Practical Machinist and find what others are paying, its not like its a big secret. I suspect that under the Sandvik umbrella everyone is now paying the same, regardless of which reseller they happen to be under. I also am guessing that the reseller avenue is slowly going by the wayside.

Years ago (in the early 90's) we (the company I work for) became a referral reseller. Since then we have always had a dealer key, it was some arrangement with our old dealer and CNC Software. Even when our old reseller retired and we got transferred to a new dealer, We were able to keep the dealer key all the way up till this year. Note- we were far from the only shop to have this arrangement...while not common it did happen. This year, the mothership finally called all of these dealer keys back home. No big surprise really, I saw the writing on the wall when Sandvik first acquired CNC Software.

With our 20 seats (all with varying capabilities, from lathe to mill to wire to mill-turn and all flavors in between) it will be scary to see the cost next June when our maintenance is due. Last time I sent a PO for maintenance was 2 years ago & I bought 3 years of maintenance to beat a price increase back then.

I think it costs twice what it does for a seat in Canada compared to the us

Yeah I've never understood that either. My guess is that the resellers would charge everyone a different price, probably as much as they could get away with, while large customers would get a "discount".

Mastercam has always been sold by VAR's (Value Added Reseller)
That means they are their own entity and can charge whatever they like.
In the US prices tend to be mostly uniform in my experience.
The number's I've seen from Canada and New Zealand are seriously higher
than anything I ever paid... as in every quote comes with a jar of Vaseline!!

Sandvik may have renegotiated this arrangement with the VAR network, though I have no idea.
I have been told owners of a VAR in the UK handed Sandvik the keys and walked away.

On eMC, it is prohibited by the TOS you agree to when you register.
That was a requirement the VAR network demanded when they signed off
on eMC back when Dave started the forum.

Somone from Australia once asked me how their maintenance quote compared to my maintenance prices.
At first, they seemed high, but once I converted Aussie $$$ to US $$$$ they were nearly identical.
That may also be the case with prices I've seen from Cananda and New Zealand

I noticed that in X25, even with autocursor set to 'arc center' you still have to hit the c key or set it in the autocursor drop down.  It wasn't like that in X24 and it's a total pain in the ass.  Is there more?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Can I ask the folks here how much annual maintenance for MC is? (I don't use MC; I'm using TopSolid).

I think TS maintenance is ~15% of current list price of the modules you're using. I'll see what happens this year....gulp.
