I'm pretty sure Abraham Lincoln said this meme was good to go on the fact check.

So here's the thing with the Trump bullet pic.
Yes, it is certainly possible to capture a bullet in mid-flight.

Since he was looking to his right, the direction we believe the bullet came from, that pic would have to be of the bullet the split second after it went through his ear, before he even reacted, assuming of course that it was the first shot.

Also, look at the vertical alignment in the famous pic.
The bullet that went through his ear went through the upper part of the ear near the top.
The straight line in the pic is closer to the bottom of his ear, probably a 2" height difference.

So I call the authenticity of the pic possible, but not likely.

Well it was supposedly taken by the NYT and immediately uploaded to the webs.

Also is it true that this was the first and only Trump rally that CNN has attended? If so, that's pretty suspiscious.

I wonder why Joe decided to drop out after a failed assassination.

I've got this image in my head of Pelosi telling Biden, "Joe you got to drop out. You're down in the polls and you sucked at that debate last week.

Joe: I'm not dropping out

Pelosi: I'm telling you, you are dropping out

Joe: let's wait and see what this kid does on July 13th. If he gets him, I'm staying in. If he doesn't get him, I'll drop out.

Pelosi: I'll call on the 15th expecting an answer!!

Pelosi: You are dropping out or else all the dirt we have on you will be made public.

Probably closer to what was actually said.

"Dr." Jill should have countered with the same threat of exposing her and her hubby.

Wouldn't the angle at which the picture is taken make it difficult to align the bullets path with his ear visually?  I mean the picture would have to have been taken basically at the same height as Trump and the path of the bullet for you to make that observation correctly.

It's true that the photographer was at ground level, and Trump was on the stage, so the photo was taken at a slight upward angle. If we knew the exact dimensions of the triangle we could do the trig, but generally speaking it seems that the angle would not affect that vertical shift by that much.

I am just speculating here, and I certainly could be wrong on that.

Also the photo would have to have been snapped at the instant the bullet already passed through his ear and was maybe a foot away, before he even reacted.

Again, possible, but to me not likely.

Del.

It was a cartoon bullet. Stopped in mid air and reversed course.

I believe the bullet in the picture is one that missed Trump.

I was watching a series about Afghanistan that used footage from the soldier's helmet cam. There was a firefight and two guys were changing position. it was daylight and you could actually see bullets passing between them; rather, you could see the path of the bullets passing between the soldiers. Sort of like heat shimmers. I'm sure it wasn't visible to the naked eye but you could see it on video.
