These media companies already get around this by not reporting the entire story. It's the same thing that Bari Weiss complained about with the NY Times.  All you have to do to steer a narrative is to leave key information out of a story. Technically it's not a lie.

As far as charging these outlets for misinformation.  That would take out about 90% of right wing media.
