The trouble is, we've all been institutionally dumbed down, and trained to take at face value, what we're told.
Gravity is a prime example.

But Gravity's origin is still not well understood, it's thought to be carried by gravitons, but they're hypothetical as yet unfound.
Small object gravity - quantum - still un-developed.
And as for Dark Matter and Dark Energy - LoL. Most of the universe's mass-energy content is attributed to dark matter and dark energy, which interact primarily through "gravity". However, how they work, interact, and their properties, are still unknown.
